Grimwild is a game about a solo adventurer undertaking a quest, delving into a dungeon, and exploring the wilderness with grave consequences. Recursive Arcana is a heroic fantasy story kit, set in a timeloop where day after day you keep trying to save the world from ending! Or when you need a break from dying constantly, you can venture out into the Grimwild itself and discover the meaning of your life.

• The story is character-driven. You’ll discover a party of allies who are also stuck in the loop fighting off “the Big Bad.”
• Character interactions are dramatic. Loopers have different agendas they seek to achieve. They will develop complex relationships over time and time again and they will quarrel over what’s right and what’s right now. There is a secret lurker who is manipulating things behind the scenes.
• The action is cinematic. Story will be discovered through emergent play. Plots will form within the exploration system of discovering new locations and witnessing/changing events.
• This all unfolds like an episode of a TV show. Each session is a new loop and new chances. The hourglass’ sands drain as you run out of time. But when the hourglass flips – you can attempt a montage to master a challenge, or set a quiet scene for that one perfectly ephemeral moment. Alongside you, the lurkers ALSO will be weaving new twists as well.
